Cooperative Metropolitan Ministries

An interfaith, non-profit association of churches, synagogues, and a masjic (mosque) in 16 urban and suburban communities which works to develop and carry out programs to address poverty and racism in the metropolitan area. Clothing is collected periodically and delivered to CMM for distribution. Financial support by the Mission budget. A variety of volunteer activities are available at CMM.

A non-profit volunteer organization which invites and coordinates community participation in a variety of educational programs in two Concord prisons. Financial support from Mission budget.

"Letting our Souls Catch Up with our Bodies" (Mark 1:29-39)

There was once an American traveler who planned a safari to Africa. He was that typical Type-A American tourist, who many of us may be and who I admittedly am when I travel. We do our research about this travel destination and we have a timetable, maps, and a clear agenda of the things we need to see and do. Some local people had even been hired to carry some of the traveler's supplies as they trekked throughout the land—it was that level of planning.

As our Annual Meeting approaches, and I reflected on the various things we've done together in my Pastor's Report, I feel excited. We've had a great year so far. It's been a year of transitions, of beginnings and endings, but I sense excitement and hope when we're together on Sunday mornings and when we perform the business of the church as the body of Christ.
