Children Serving Dinner Bristol Lodge Bristol Lodge (Middlesex Human Service Agency, Inc.)

Dinner for the homeless, poor, or temporarily struggling people of Waltham is served daily at the Immanuel United Methodist Church, 545 Moody St., Waltham, MA. On the second Thursday of each month dinner is prepared in the Pilgrim kitchen and served at the soup kitchen. Bristol Lodge Volunteers can sign up to coordinate the meal, provide food items, do simple preparations, and serve. Menus can be changed at discretion of month's coordinator. The Mission Fund can help pay for food. A sign-up sheet is always hanging on the Mission bulletin board in Pilgrim Hall at the church.

The Outdoor Church

This ecumenical ministry for the homeless provides short prayer services in Porter Square at 9:00 a.m. and on Cambridge Common at 1:00 p.m. every Sunday.  Following the services lay and ordained ministers carry sandwiches, pastries, juice and white socks through Porter Square into Harvard Square and Central Square to offer a meal and communion to the homeless.  Pastoral services and information to connect people on the street with social services and legal support and medical assistance are provided.  Support from Pilgrim with collections of white socks, the Mission budget and special offerings, as well as $7000 from the Capital Campaign (Foundation for the Future) to help finance support staff.
