Minuteman Senior Services (MSS)

An agency whose mission is to help elders and others remain in their homes, being safe, comfortable, and independent as long as possible. They offer support to caregivers as they face challenges presented by the competing needs of family, work, and self. They serve sixteen communities north and west of Boston. MSS provides a special outreach program called Faith In Action. This is a multi faith action network that supports congregations in their work with senior adults and their families, through education, training, and information for elders and caregivers. "Letting our Souls Catch Up with our Bodies" (Mark 1:29-39)

There was once an American traveler who planned a safari to Africa. He was that typical Type-A American tourist, who many of us may be and who I admittedly am when I travel. We do our research about this travel destination and we have a timetable, maps, and a clear agenda of the things we need to see and do. Some local people had even been hired to carry some of the traveler's supplies as they trekked throughout the land—it was that level of planning.

FROM OUR PASTOR

As our Annual Meeting approaches, and I reflected on the various things we've done together in my Pastor's Report, I feel excited. We've had a great year so far. It's been a year of transitions, of beginnings and endings, but I sense excitement and hope when we're together on Sunday mornings and when we perform the business of the church as the body of Christ.
