Pilgrim Church School is deeply rooted in the greater mission of Pilgrim Church, UCC. We provide a welcoming home for children, parents, and volunteers looking to continue their faith journey. Striving to put faith in action, we work hard to explain faith through hands-on learning and mission opportunities for all ages. As our world and community are constantly evolving, Pilgrim Church School is always exploring new and innovative ways to truly teach God’s word.
Children & Youth Offerings
SUNDAY MORNING CHILDCARE
Children are a beloved part of our worshiping community. We welcome them as full participants in God’s presence throughout Sunday services and want them to feel at home at Pilgrim. For infants and children through age three, we offer nursery care with our Nursery Care Provider. The nursery is available during the service each week. We also offer a family area in our space behind the upstairs balcony for parents with children who are not yet ready to leave their parents. This area is sound proof with with full audio/visual access to the service.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
Pilgrim Church offers weekly classes September to June for children and youth of all ages. Typical classes feature prayer time, a brief scripture reading, discussion time, and an activity. All classes are tailored to the developmental level and interests of the children, and often involve crafts, games, music making, service projects, and more! Pilgrim Church explores the most innovative ways to bring faith to life for our students. The Spark: Activate Faith curriculum uses a dynamic set of workshops to explore multiple Bible lessons throughout the year. Each month we begin with a different story that children will learn about for three consecutive weeks. When the month ends, students have had the opportunity to explore the story in video, science and art workshops. This format allows our multitude of learners to truly grasp the meaning and gain a new understanding of traditional Bible stories.
CONFIRMATION
Confirmation class is offered to all teen Pilgrims who are interested in further exploring and affirming their faith, and becoming full members of the church. The program is led by the Pastor and Youth and Christian Education Director. We follow the UCC Confirmation Curriculum, Affirming Faith, and meet at least twice a month to learn and grow together, building strong relationships as we experience what it means to be Christians in community.
YOUTH GROUP
For Pilgrim teens & their friends, we offer a monthly meeting time to bond in fellowship outside of worship. Pilgrim Youth Group provides a safe space for teens to bond, form long-lasting relationships with like-minded individuals, and of course, have some fun! Recent youth group events have included paint nights, game nights, s’mores in the pumpkin patch, a class with a local magician, and so much more!
OPPORTUNITIES FOR ADULTS IN CHURCH SCHOOL
Adult volunteers are vital to the life and ministry of the Church School. There are also many ways you can help!
Become a teacher or assistant teacher Serve on the Educational Ministries Committee Prepare food for special occasions Share music, art or other talents.

The safety of our children and youth is our highest priority. We have established a set of practices to ensure a safe and welcoming place for children and adults alike.
