Values
A traditional New England church building is the home base for our congregation dedicated to these values:
- Gathering for worship that is Biblical, relevant, and joyful.
- Providing a welcoming atmosphere to spiritual seekers.
- Serving God by serving others.
- Creating links with people of other faiths.
- Finding ways to integrate the spiritual with everyday life.
Members of our congregation represent a variety of religious backgrounds as well as the agnostic and the seeker.
Pilgrim is a member of the United Church of Christ, the oldest and largest protestant denomination in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The United Church of Christ is a church in process. We are committed to ecumenical dialogue and to the belief that God's revelation is ongoing. It is the responsibility of the church in each generation to make faith its own. In our worship, we bring every thing we are to God. We acknowledge that life contains both celebration and sadness; we are sometimes givers and sometimes receivers; we come with different needs and a variety of life situations. The atmosphere, language, and attitude is inclusive and welcoming.
